Leupp, Az

Leupp Chapter House

Leupp was the first designated chapter of the Navajo Reservation. It was once the Western Navajo Agency head-quarters under the BIA. In a sad case in history, the community was used as a “holding camp” for Japanese Americans during World War II. Technology is big business in Leupp. Tooh Dineh Industries assembles circuitry boards. The Grand Falls, about 19 miles west of the community is a fascinating sight, especially in late afternoons and when flash floods occur; normally the Little Colorado River does not have a significant flow.
